Our survey gathered insights from 122 fund managers across Europe and the UK, providing a comprehensive snapshot of the private capital industry. These respondents represent a diverse range of roles, firm sizes and geographies, offering a well-rounded perspective on current market trends and fund management strategies.
UK: 47.2% of respondents are based in the United Kingdom.
Europe (excluding UK): 52.8% of respondents are based across Europe, reflecting a strong representation from the continent’s private capital markets.
Investment Directors/Fund Managers make up the largest portion of respondents (33.6%), followed by key leadership roles such as:
Chief Financial Officers (CFO): 17.2%
Chief Compliance Officers (CCO): 8.6%
Chief Operating Officers (COO): 8.6%
Other roles include Legal professionals (12.5%), Investor Relations (5.5%), and Investment Analysts (7.0%). “Other” made up the remaining 7%.
Large firms: 14.4% of respondents manage firms with over $10bn in AUM, while 22.4% represent firms with $5bn-$10bn in AUM.
Mid-sized firms: The largest segment of respondents (38.4%) manage firms with $500m-$5bn in AUM.
Smaller firms: 18.4% of respondents manage $100m-$500m, and 6.4% are from firms with less than $100m in AUM.
The majority of respondents (75.6%) indicated that their latest funds are domiciled in Europe.
